We are beyond thrilled to announce that Encore Choirs is coming to Wickham from September 6th, 2024! 

Encore Choirs has been running weekly sessions in Alton and Petersfield since 2019 and has had an absolute blast learning so many songs, creating memories and performing across Hampshire, Surrey, West Sussex and most recently, France! To celebrate our 5th anniversary this September we are truly excited to be opening another choir, in the heart of Wickham at the Wickham Community Centre.

Our choirs are all about bringing a community together, with the shared love of singing (and cake too!) – whether you are a first time singer, or whether you have been singing all your life, we welcome everyone (from ages 18+). We sing in a huge range of genres from pop to rock, soul and gospel, r&b to jazz, musical theatre and sometimes classical! 

The choirs are led by choir leaders Josh Robinson whose background is in the study of voice, understanding how it functions and how to get the best out of your voice. Vocal health and technique is also an important of our choirs, helping people to sing safely, efficiently and of course having an incredible amount of fun along the way. 

How the sessions run:

For your very first session we offer a FREE Taster so you can get a feel for the choir and how we run.
Each weekly session runs for two hours from 7.15-9.15 pm, starting with a warm-up and learning our first songs of the evening. We then share 15/20 minute break to have a hot drink and share cake and savoury snacks, allowing everyone to get to know each other and to give the voice a small break.
We finish each session singing through what we have learnt during the session. Eventually, we will use the songs we have been learning to put on a performance.
